Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia
Sited in the outer rings of the new King Abdullah Financial District of Riyadh, the three SkyParks take on strong ‘background’ roles, forming a unified set of ‘front door’ arrival experiences for the district. Their facades, silhouettes, and rooftop gardens create activated, livable infrastructure of the city. Inside the car parks, lightwells allow the sun to penetrate through nine levels, four below grade, to enrich the experience while providing easy and natural wayfinding. On the rooftops, neighborhood parks are provided for play, active, and social spaces.
Color-wayfinding, identity; facades as cultural reference weave wall terrain (3 distinct).
