Madison, Wisconsin

Library
The general approach of the renovation and addition to the Madison Public Library proposal was to strip the existing 2-story (plus multi-level basement) structure to its shell and add one level in a vertical expansion. The existing brick masonry ‘skin’ was to remain and be cut as needed for new windows and ‘pop-outs’. A new metal cladding of subtly varied zinc panels would wrap over the existing brick. Completed as will bruder architects, ltd. with HGA Architects and Engineers.
