Mezzo is a distinctive infill catalyst, spliced into an eclectic 1950s midtown Phoenix neighborhood. Ten homes are designed to live on three levels: entry/study/carport at level 1, living/dining/kitchen at level 2, and two bedroom/bath suites at level 3. At the heart of the complex, a shared auto court leads to community and meditation gardens. Delineated by finely articulated masonry bearing walls and perforated metal, its massing, materiality, and details create a sense of identity—while offering urban living appropriate to the desert climate. completed as will bruder architects ltd.
