Sited at the nexus of converging urban routes, the Academy leverages history in a hub of commerce. Transparent ‘mixing spaces’ catalyze innovation, promoting interaction—of faculty, students, executives, and entrepreneurs. Spanning a pedestrian street, the Academy forms a microclimate oasis; its crystalline form extends to form urban linkages. Its lightweight shade lattice is tuned to orientation, and reveals an active program, with café and meeting terraces under the flying roof.
