Originally from South Carolina, Justin graduated with high honors from the University of Virginia School of Architecture in 1996. He then earned a Master of Architecture from Princeton University in 1999. His post-graduate research focused on design interventions that sought to interject an authentic sense of place into an increasingly placeless modern context. As a rule, place continues to inform every project. Justin spent the next decade working and teaching in Charleston, SC. He taught a variety of drawing courses for Clemson University’s Charleston program that immersed students into their historic context. His design work during this time explored contextual forms enveloped with natural materials and rich textures, culminating in dozens of high-profile residences. Justin was drawn to the desert in 2012, where he was able to bring these sensibilities to bear as he spearheaded several significant projects including resort hotels, meeting facilities, spas, and custom residences, as well as multi-family developments. As a registered architect with over 24 years of experience, his commitment to creative problem solving and passion for materials and details made Justin a natural fit for Worksbureau. He joined the studio in 2017.
